Ten Hard Sayings of Jesus

When Jesus lived in this world, His words were not always about love, peace, joy, etc. Sometimes His words were strong and hard, and many were offended by what He said. Here are just ten examples of words spoken by my Lord, words that are not always easy to comprehend or take in. They have been relevant for my life, and they may be relevant or become relevant for your life too, as you read them and try to understand what the Lord is saying. 

1. Even if your marriage partner is unfaithful, Jesus asks us to remain married to them

 

2. Is there any point in getting married?

 

3. Following Jesus is not a bed of roses 

 

4. How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!  

 

5. Do we find this Christian life difficult or hard? Is it hard to know what is expected of us by Jesus? 

 

6. Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

 

7. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things

 

8. If we confess everything, then the devil has nothing to accuse us of

 

9. Cutting out of our lives, everything that defiles us, or takes us away from Christ 

 

10. The publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
