Time to Move on
After almost 6 years, I finally left Rickmansworth School in April 2023. It was a sad, but the right time to go. I will miss the students a lot, but see some of them from time to time, since we play Badminton at the school. Now that I have left, I have posted a photo of my Year 13 class students; I have taught some of them for 5 years straight, with a special mention to Sophie, who was with me since Year 9 (Set 3). There were some brilliant students in this class, some who were so much brighter than me. I will miss them so much but I have done all I could for them, and taught them everything for their exams.
There were lots of cards, and presents that the students and staff gave me when I left. I have kept most of the cards, because what they wrote inside meant so much more than the presents.
Out of all six years, the highlight was teaching the Further Maths kids; in the last year of teaching, I had to organise the Senior Maths Challenge for the Further Maths students from Years 12 and 13. Just being in the room with these 20 students was almost intimidating for me; at the same time I was proud to be in the same room as the best minds in the school at the time. Truly an overwhelming and unforgettable experience for me.
Also, found a photo of a few of the Year 8 girls from Ricky, that I took to Watford Girls for the Motor Maths Challenge; they were the only students who knew how to use Trigonometry in their calculations. Some of them went onto to do Further Maths, where I taught them last. I had taught some of them for 4 years by then (Mara, Aminah, Ismahaan, Daisy, Niamh, Codruta, Emma….even Izzy West is in the photo!).
